We were having a standing water in area next and around the side of our house. During certain downpours it could be up to 4 or 5 inches of standing water. We were worried about our foundation and possible water flooding in. We found Drain My Lawn by researching companies in the area. We were impressed by their reviews and reached out. We appreciated the project diagram to get a good idea about our project. Everyone that showed up to start the project are really great. We are very happy with the services provided to us by Drain My Lawn. Kenneth came to our home for the initial quote and created a detailed walkthrough video of our drainage needs, which helped us all be on the same page. He also included a project rendering that he updated as we changed the scope. I contacted Nick when I was having issues with water flooding into my home. I was very impressed with his knowledge and the detailed job he did assessing the issue. His recommended solution ended up being something that required repair by the DOT, but he did not try and push any other solutions on me. It was because of Nick that I was able to finally figure out what needed to be done after many others had offered no help. From the effort put into the estimate months ago, to the work put in on the job today, Drain My Lawn has been communicative, professional, and has done everything they said they would do. Their estimates were itemized in a clear-to-understand way and the costs were what you'd expect for reasonable quality. Typically, all you hope is that whomever you hire does the job you asked for well, but it's always an added benefit when they are also friendly and personable. That defines this team. We never had any concerns that they would cut corners or rush the job. The results back that up. Heck, as they were working, their expertise identified an issue with the neighbors lawn! Drain My Lawn did a fantastic job in evaluating my problems, and determining the correct solution. Drain My Lawn did just that for us! They are a remarkable business overall and a model for how people ought to be doing work. The process started with a detailed assessment of our drainage issues and a clear video detailing what work would be done. The system they proposed and then put in place was terrific---well thought out in order to keep water away from the house (and all kinds of extra things I would not have thought about). They were always prompt and courteous. They did not overcharge but offered a fair and reasonable price for the work. The water was splashing up against our foundation, and we hired Drain My Lawn to divert the water away from our foundation. Nick and his team installed an underground pipe which leads to a pop-up emitter approximately 5 feet away from our foundation. This ended up being a very cost effective solution to ensure our foundation is protected from a high volume of splashing and pooling water. If you're planning any work on your property, take the time to read this! Before I tell you about our experience with Drain My Lawn, I need to share the story that led us to them. For over 10 years, we've dealt with massive amounts of water flowing onto our property from a neighboring home that sits much higher than ours. The damage was extensive—our backyard was constantly saturated, our garage flooded, moisture seeped through downstairs walls, cracks developed upstairs from shifting, and our garages stayed perpetually damp, causing rust on nearly everything stored inside. Over the years, we explored countless solutions, from pipes between properties to swales and other drainage systems. We received wildly different proposals and prices, leaving us unsure who was being honest or capable of solving the problem. After several disappointing contractor experiences, we eventually gave up. And let's be honest—nobody wants to spend money on drainage issues. As our problems continued, I searched for a company that specialized in drainage and found Drain My Lawn with outstanding reviews. I thought, "Let's try one more time." Nick came out almost immediately and carefully evaluated every issue we discussed. It was clear we had a major problem that required a major solution. He returned with a comprehensive plan and patiently answered all of our questions. Sometimes you simply know when you're dealing with the right person and company. That's exactly how we felt about Nick. Here are some of the things that stood out during the 2½ weeks it took to complete our project: • Materials arrived quickly, and that's when we met Evan, one of the owners, who personally unloaded long drainage pipes onto our property. • The crew showed up on time every single sweltering day. Reliable contractors are worth their weight in gold, and this team was dependable from start to finish. • Every member of the crew was incredibly polite, professional, and respectful. The scope of work was extensive: • All gutters were rerouted into larger drainage pipes servicing the backyard. • A 12-inch drainage pipe was installed across the entire front yard, requiring a section of our driveway to be cut and replaced. • Additional pipes were installed beneath the walkway to connect front gutters into the new system. • The front yard was regraded away from the house, lined with a barrier, and finished with river rock. • A significant French drain issue beneath our home was addressed so water would no longer flow under the house like a small river. • A 330-foot berm with pond liner and riprap stone was installed between our property and our neighbor's, directing water toward a creek at the rear of our lot. The goal was simple: move water away from our home—and they accomplished it beautifully. The results were fantastic. All removed landscaping and debris were meticulously cleaned up and hauled away. Evan and his foreman, Cody—another outstanding, polite young man—checked in with us at the beginning and end of every day. Any concerns were addressed immediately. I will echo the good reviews that have been posted so far for these guys. I really like the communication and prompt response I received. I submitted a request for appointment/call on Saturday and have already met with them by Monday evening. Nick came to my home and looked at the issue I'm having with mild erosion in my side yard. It's not a major issue but is large enough that I wanted to get a professional opinion on how to fix it. He could have easily sold me on a costly overkill solution but that didn't happen. Instead, Nick explained what was really causing the erosion and identified a few options that would help. We bought a new house and after the very first rain it was clear we had a serious drainage problem which caused several thousand gallons of water to collect in the backyard (and took DAYS to drain), and the water got dangerously close to the crawl space. Nick came out and confirmed the problem, did a thorough assessment, and completed the job while we were on vacation. We returned home a few days after the work was completed, on the morning after a big downpour and the backyard was bone dry. They did a great job cleaning up the mess and even seeded the yard where they worked. We are impressed with the work and believe the price, although significant, was fair for the amount of work done. I was slated to install my driveway with-in two weeks time. However, there was an unforseen problem....Installing the driveway will block the the path of water drainage. There will be a very large holding cell of water that will sit against my house foundation and surround my deck posts and entry unto the deck. I reached out to Drain My lawn and Kenneth came out with-in one day of our phone conversation. He diffintely understood the ugergency. He made his assessment and sent me a veido explanation of what had to be done to correct my situation. As he stated, next day he forwarded me detailed cost estimate which included aerial veiw with all drainage features in place and named. Great service! Nick came out and inspected my issue with poor drainage in my front yard near my front steps. He proposed his plan for a drain to me and gave me a very reasonable quote for the work. I agreed to the work and we called the city to have the yard marked to do the work. The city was slow to respond and Nick stepped in and escalated with the city and got that taken care of. As soon as the yard was marked, Nick was here within a few days and completed the job in 3 hours. Everything was done professionally and we have had no drainage issues at all since he did the work. Can't say enough about the folks at Drain My Lawn.. I had them replace two driveaway culverts, install a new one in a second driveway and do some drainage related grading on my property and was very pleased!.. When my son bought his first home recently... We had Drain My Lawn come out and look at a situation caused by the previous owner.. They installed new drainage lines and a catch basin and graded and seeded the area afterwards... Now it looks like they were never there. Had a downpour a day or two after they finished the work and the new drainage system worked flawlessly!!! I really like Nick's business model and how he pours into the staff and give them opportunities to be part of the business. Everyone is very responsive and respectful. When Nick came out to both properties, he not only listened to our concerns, but spent time taking measurements and video of the area. Nick came out to diagnose my drainage issues, provided great documentation and came back again when we had more questions and potential problem areas before pulling the trigger. When we suggested to rip and replace an additional drain, Nick said while he could, it wouldn’t be cost effective and wouldn’t lead to a better outcome. That kind of honesty is refreshing, appreciated and unfortunately, somewhat rare. Trust trumps everything and Nick is trustworthy in how he runs his business. After placing a small deposit to get scheduled, the team actually started the work a week before they said they could. Nicks team was respectful of my property and expeditious in their work. Any issues were quickly addressed and I was never left waiting for a response. Highly communicative before, during and after the job.
